Dear Colleagues, African Health Systems Governance Network (ASHGOVNET) e - mailing list is dedicated to addressing issues and sharing information on the subject of stewardship, governance and leadership of health systems in Africa as well global issues that are of interest to Africa. The e mailing list is drawn from those health leaders who were invited or participated at the Kampala meeting 16 – 17 December 2009 and agreed to create the African Health Systems Governance Network (ASHGOVNET). Also invited are colleagues who during the year have expressed interest in this area of work. We are kicking off the discussion with an opinion piece that I have published in the November 2010 issue of Africa Health on the subject of the Implementation Gap. Please feel free to comment concisely on the topic during the next two weeks. We will summarize your comments and include them in a News letter that we will be publishing monthly. The ACHEST website www.achest.org has opened an interactive tab dedicated to stewardship, governance and leadership of health systems where we can all post and share information.
